Indoor ranges

I know of just one indoor range in the area and even that one is just over 60 miles away. Their fee for the firearms range is $18/day or $257/year. I'm curious as to what others pay for their use at indoor ranges. There is one 27 miles from here but it's not heated and that is no fun in the winter in Minnesota.

$400 annually, unlimited range time in one hour increments. I typically shoot at least once a week. Totally worth it in my option.

Seems to vary a whole lot by location. Back in PA, I was a member of numerous outdoor clubs with fees ranging from $25/yr to about $150/yr. Indoor ranges were pretty limited and cost around $15-$20 per hour... and they always go by 1/2 hour or one hour increments.

Down here in Florida, outdoor clubs are much more limited and fees are often $400-$600/yr. Indoor ranges are still about the same price as in PA but none of them restrict your time... some even allow you to leave and come back in the same day.

Closest indoor range to me is about 60 miles away, the outdoor range that I go to is closed due to snow, and anyway, snowed in for a few days here so no shooting for me.

oh well,

Illinios, in the Chicago/Cook County "collar" counties.

Average is $20/hr.

Indoor Range is 8 miles away from me and the fee is 199.00 for an annual membership of unlimited time per session. They have 14 bays and of course it has A/C because in deep South Texas we'd die without it!

Non-Members pay $16.00 plus tax per day and their targets are always $1.00 each. You can take your own ammo so long as it's brass.

Very convenient and based on prices above I'd have to say we are quite fortunate!!!

The two I go to charge $18 to $20 per hour band do not allow Aluminum cased ammo.

There's a range about 25 minutes away. It's indoors and the price varies by membership level. It's the longest indoor range in the east coast (100 yards). Annual membership for an individual goes from $299 to $1559.

I'm a member of Izaak Walton League. It's an outdoor range. We have a range out to 250 yards. We have to bring our own targets to shoot. We police ourselves. They have Steel at 75 yards and back. I bring my own Arntzen AR500 targets for 25 and 50 yards. I prefer hitting Steel. I like to hear the ring. I don't care to shoot paper unless I'm trying to sight in, or I'm working on a load.

Here in Florida their are many indoor ranges that charge from $15 to $18 per hour. From 10 to 45 miles from my home. A new range down in Tarpon Springs (Reload) charges an old guy like me $15.00 from Mon. to Thurs. Women free on Tues. after 5 PM. They don't hold you to the hour. They have a 100yrd. indoor range for guys to shoot rifle I think it's $20.00 an hour.

I'd agree that you are fortunate. I'd gladly pay $200/year if one was that close to me. I can pay $40/year at a gun club 9 miles away for an outdoor range but I can also drive 22 miles to a gravel pit and shoot for free. It's just the winter time that is the problem. If I drove a round trip of 125 miles every week to shoot I'd spend more on gas than on the range fees. And then there is the 2 hours plus of road time. Not really worth it.

Its been interesting to see what others pay in other parts of the country.

I have about 4 indoor ranges within 30 minutes of my here in coastal SC (wwhat we lack are enough outdoor ranges). All are priced about the same at approximately $20/hour. Some have membership plans, some don't. No steel core is about the only rule I'm aware of.

Excellent indoor range 3 miles from home, $350 year unlimited in one hour increments.

Its about 15 miles from me on the other side of town .. in an old warehouse building .. 10 dollars per half hour .. you have to buy their ammo which is jacked up 2-3 bucks for a box of 50 ..

gun rentals 10 bucks for a half hour for some and the better pistols are 12 to 15 for 1/2 hour shooting not counting the range fee and ammo .. AR rentals are 15 bucks and they have a couple of home defense shotguns you can rent too ..vets get a buck off after showing DD214 and putting it on file .. and you can pre buy range time and get a buck off per 1/2 hour .. so I pay 8 bucks for 1/2 hour shooting ..

Only use it during the winter . I either shoot at my place or an outdoor range I am a member of during the summer .. their fee is 100 per year and its BYO you can shoot sunrise to sunset .. it has 10 different ranges including one archery range .. its about 18 miles from me ..

I drive to my outdoor range once or twice a week(25 miles, & min.) Free range, has 5 handgun lanes, and 5 long gun lanes. Down side is it only open Thr thru Sun. So i go before the weekend(no crowds, I'm retired).
There is one other outside range about 5 miles away at $10 a day. Issues are I'm 72 and access is walking up and hill carrying gear(I have to stop 3-4 times) getting out of there up hill. It's open 6 days a week. So I'll use this one for pistols and small gear bag.
At least I have a place to shoot. I don't care much for indoor ranges. My free range has a roof, so all I have to do is wear warmer clothes when needed.
