I've seen some good work by Mahovsky, and his prices are more than fair. Robar would be great, but I've heard their turn around is hit or miss, and it's pricey(quality usually is) for sure.

Chrome is harder, and it seems they offer it in a matte, so I'll look into it some more. I would really hate if it bubbled or anything. Plus, this gun will not see much abuse other than range usage and very limited carry in the winter.

Birdzman - that's one beautiful colt! I'm loving that bobtail too. I'm also curious who did the work.

The anodizing is where the strength is on a Sig frame.

No way would I allow it to be removed.
The Sig armorers course I took, the instructor had examples of refinished frames.
Everywhere there was a opening on the frames, it was wallowed out.

That is why Sig once would refinish a frame, and no longer will.
If Sig could do a refinish with no chance of bad results, they would because they don't want to turn down money.

Some people say they can refinish without removing the anodizing.

I had Sig reblue my 220-9mm slide, and it looks great.
The frame has marks, and I just used Birchwood Casey's touch up.

Hard chrome may be harder, but I wouldn't bet my frame on it.

It was done by Rob at ACW (Alchemy Custom Weaponry) when he worked for himself he has since ben acquired by Cabot Gun Company.
Rob was great to work with, he sent my frame to Neil Keller to have the Snakeskin machining done on the frontstrap.
