Nice. I tried that trigger and did not like it. Went ahead and put in a Gray Guns. They look very close to the same, but there are subtle differences that make the GG trigger fit better.

I really like my 229C regardless of all the background noise on them.

Probably one of my favorite guns at this point and that is saying something.

I went through my Sig parts bag last night. I have so much stuff that got pulled off of other 229's when I sold them I need to get a builder and make something nice out of it.

I put a lot of thought into my decision of weather to get a 229, 229C or 224 and and the 224 won out even though it's been discontinued.
The grip length on the 229 was what caused me to rule it out and the 229C shares the grip length with the 229 and the slide length with the 224 so by adding an extended mag to a 224 you would essentially have a 229C if you wanted it.
The one I got was made Aug 26 of 2014 so it seems it's well past the problem period they had, I'll probably take it to the range this coming week to try it out.

I hear what your saying and I agree, until I get my P229C in my hand. One of my favorite handguns!

Shame. I like my 224.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind the 224 compared to the 229C. I like the small subcompacts, I carry my G27 90% of the time. The only reason I got my 229C as opposed to the p224 is because of the price I got it for.

I agree with the sentiment of the OP, but after owning and shooting the P224 and the P229C, I wanted the extra grip on the P229. It makes a great companion piece to my Legion and it is much nicer to shoot than the P224. While you can use the 229 mags in the 224, the same is not reverse. All of my mags are now the same.

As for carrying it, the shorter barrel actually makes it much easier to carry appendix than my Legion. And my Legion isn't too bad to do so with.

I look at the P229c as what the P229 really should be, in terms of an actual compact double-stack P-Series Sig, although like the P229, it too is quite the porker.

I know that this is sacrilege to some...but if Sig would come out with s polymer-framed version of their DA/SA Classic P-Series (like we see in the Beretta PX4 compact or CZ P-07), they'd have a huge hit on their hands. Imagine something that has basically the exact dimensions of the P229A-1, but holds 13 rounds of 9mm.

These days I just slap the extended mag in my P-224 and call it a P-229c. (Bonus points: it's a P-229c DAK!)

Got the 224 in Sept (new). It is having some extractor issues and going to be sending it back today. Getting the trigger action package, SRT package and xray sights on it while there. Cant wait to get it back...

Man...I don't know if I could deal with a P-Series that has a less-than-four-finger-length grip. I handled a P220C one day without firing, and even with the little finger extension it felt like brick on a lollipop stick. I'm fine with Sig bore heights, but it would start pushing it with shorter sub-compact grips. Glock 26 is really the only thing I feel good with it on. Even a P320 sub-compact (I have the P320C and love it), I don't have any interest in with all that top-heaviness.
