P220 Stainless Elite or Equinox

Can't decide. Love both. Want to buy by March.

Love the stainless slide and frame and heavier feel of the SSE, but love the Equinox look, especially the Nickel controls: Trigger, hammer, slide lock, take down lever, etc. Will replace wide, slick wood grips with Hogue black, checkered G10s.

Gun used for target shooting and fondling. NOT used to CARRY.

SSE is $1289 and Equinox at $1049, at local gun shop. Full sized models. I don't buy guns on the internet. Price is secondary.

Also, just found out that the Equinox model is now discontinued. CA compliant models exist. My shop has one regular Equinox left.

What SIG Addicts have these and what do you recommend???

I hate the Curly Que Beavertail on the SSEs
I purchased a P220c Equinox last month by mistake/
thought I was getting a Full Size and did not
know the 3 stood for carry. I'm keeping it though.
I have two other Equinox models P226 and P938.

Stainless SIG's will always be my favorite, but the Equinox is a beauty.

Love the Equinox. But the wood grips would be too thick for me, just like the Rosewoods on my SSEs. So either way, the grips would go.

I love my SSEs. The only Equinox I have is my P227. (shrug)

Yeah, wood grips too thick and are very slippery. Mentioned that wood grips will go and replace with Hogue G10 Checkered.

If just for range, I think you'd appreciate the added weight of the Stainless Elite more. I like mine much more than the standard P220 I had. I also love the wood grips on mine.

Sse.

P.S. I HATE the way the editor for these posts changes abbreviations/acronyms that should be all caps either to "sentence case" (as above) or all lower-case. Really, really, annoying to me.
