sundeck240, I've got them on all my Sigs now. Used the Sig Sauer "identified" models on those that were available, the Hogues on the P225/P6 models. Sometimes you can be fortunate, and find someone having them on sale, the green ones got thru CDNN for almost nothing (less than $50), because they didn't have screws, and the gray/black ones on the M11A1 from Greg Cote, who had them on sale last summer.

I put black checkered g10 on my 229 about a month or so ago. I couldn't be happier. I plan to order some for my 226 this week.

I just like the way the checkered look and feel.

I've waffled between checkered and chainlink. I've gone back to checkered on everything but my P239, and soon I'll get a set for that too. (I could put my old checkered set back on, but those are for DA/SA and I like the DAK grips on a DAK pistol.)

I dig the aesthetics of the smooth G10 (and the smooth aluminum, for that matter). Anybody have experience with either? Are they "grippy" enough?

I got mine at Planet Optical, I chatted with their online rep and I got my GMascus for around $80.

I have smooth G10s for my 224, I had to get chain link (and now checkered, I picked a set up cheap). Maybe on something with a longer grip it would have felt better, but they just felt a little too slick for me drawing from an AIWB.

Im going with the Piranha. They are the same ones on my P238 scorpion and I love the aggressive bite.

Checkered all the way. Practical and Handsome. Piranha is grippy as heck, but its a bit much visually, looks like a toy.

I've got a set of Black/Gray P226 G-Mascus Chain Link Pattern for sale. It's the one in the picture off of the Legion I sold. They are in excellent condition. I believe they are a little thinner for a smaller grip circumference than the OEM Sig Grips. I also have the Piranha's that came with the Scorpion Carry 1911 and in comparison the Chain Links are maybe a little bit more aggressive when gripping tightly but they are very close. I don't find them too abrasive on hands or clothing at all but as was previously said a little bit of sanding smooths them out if you desire. PM me if interested.

I just ordered Hogue black checkered G10 grips for my 226. Also threw a spare 14 round 229 mag in the order. After putting the g10 on my 229 I wanted to add them to my 226. I can wait.

G10 Checkered Black....

Sig-branded Green Mascus Pirahna......

Stayed with the green. May have Sig medallions inlaid on the black ones for another P229 down the road, but I'm actually interested in smooth black ones.

I have smooth g10 on my 224. Great for carry. OK for shooting. If I shot it more than 50-100 per month, I might want somethig more aggressive. But they are great for what I need.

Looking for either piranhas or checkered for my 229. Replacing e2, which are finally starting to loosen up after ~9000 rounds. So this thread is of interest to me.
