Ok, First post,2nd Sig. The other is a P-250. I know, I know. How dare I bring up that model. LOL. Anyway, I found a older model P-220 today and other than the sights and grip I'm happy. Nice used gun, and the shop wanted the trade of the chubby FNP-45 that was looking for a new safe to hide in. The 220 has the #6 on the front and #8 on the rear. I'd like to find something a bite more open and taller. Maybe even night sights, Anyone have any idea's???

As for the grips it has the OEM and set of Houge’s that came with it. But as the Houge’s go, they seem to get sticky as most of them do over time. I really went looking for one of the new P-220 Compact models. But that 1100.00 price tag was a little more than was in the wallet today.

BTW, the other thing is I shoot a fare amount of light reloads. What lbs. spring would you guys recommend to down sizing to. And who's the best seller of those??? FYI also thinking that this weapon could be another CCW choice. And use the Hornady Critical Def. ammo. It's not +P, but a little hotter than my standard range loads.

Thanks Cranky

check this out. You'll have to page through a bit to get to the Sig Compacts. I have one of these. Nice piece.

But as for the sights, send it to Sig and they will go through and put on a set of night sights for a great price. Not sure if they have any specials right now, but even at regular prices it's a great deal. You will have a properly cleaned, inspected gun with all new springs.

6/8 sightts are standard. Night sights are a popular upgrade, no idea why you'd want taller though.

Also 220 compacts are a lot less than $1100 in tems of actual selling price.

Don't mess with the spring weights. I stock the Sig 220 factory parts kits that do include a new spring.

6/8 sights are correct as QoingQuiet said. If you choose to install night sights and are looking for ones that are more "open", I would suggest Trijicons over the Meprolights. My experience has observed more light around the Trijicon front sight blade than the Meps. When looking at your sights with the correct sight picture the front blade appears to be a bit thinner on the Trijicons.

When I decided to change my sights, I installed Meprolights. The three dot night sights are so much better for me than the stock Sig sights.
