Thinner grips for M11-A1?

I have an M11-A1 with the stock, black "P228" grips. I have medium sized hands and the grip just feels like it could stand to be thinner. Would Hogue G10 grips be noticeably thinner? Other options?

E2's are your smallest option. I have them on my 229 SAS, and every time I pick it up, I'm astounded by how great they feel. Granted, they don't look as good as other options.

I have Hogue G10's that I haven't even installed yet. I'll give them a try soon.

But they still look better than the stock 228 grips, and work better.

RoscoeD, these are measurements that I had taken, on both of my P226s with both the polymer grips and G-10s. Virtually no difference size wise, but that has been stated, the G-10s seem to give you a firmer grip, or at least feel like it.

I switched out the stock grips on my M11A1 with Hogue G10s. I didn't find the G10s to be any thinner (as born out by Willard's measurements) but the the fit, feel and grip are superior which is what I was going for.

E2 is my first suggestion.
After that Hogue Aluminum if you want thinner. For whatever reason, they feel thinner than any of my G10's. (Disclaimer on them however: I was given a pair from a friend not long after I bought my M11-A1. I put them on and while they felt thinner, I wasn't keen on the feel of them. Not grippy and I felt like if your hands were sweaty, you wouldn't be able to keep a good grip.)

I ended up putting G10 Extreme's on mine.

Just my thoughts however. Everyone has different opinions when it comes to grips!

The G10 grips are nice, but after installing a pair on my W. German P226, hoping to accomplish what you're hoping to, I really didn't notice much of a difference in terms of size. The texture was much better, but not really any thinner. As mentioned, the E2 grips will be the best option for obtaining a smaller grip circumference.

Hogue Aluminum's on my M11a1.

Noticeably thinner than the standard grips.

I went from stock to G10 chainlinks to E2. I have fairly large hands w/ long, skinny fingers, but I love the E2 grips on both my M11-A1 and MK25.

There must be different types of Hogue aluminum grips because I had them on an M11A-1 and they were thicker/bigger to such I went to the standard P228 stock grips as they fit better, much smaller.

Do they make different thicknesses?

The G10's will be a noticeable difference. I would highly recommend them.

If your question was directed towards me: I took these grips off a Sig 229 Dark Elite and put them in the M11a1. I did not get them directly from Hogue.

Now that you asked the ?, I don't even know if they are Hogue's!

I have enough trouble keeping track of Sig's pistol nomenclature, let alone grip manufacturers!

There may be a thickness between grips from Hogue's and grips that came on the DE.

I went with the Sig aluminum panels on my m11a1, and they are not only thinner than the stock polymer grips, they just feel awesome. There's something about the feel of the cool aluminum that just feels great. I've handled some P229's with G10's and those felt good too. Aluminum just suits me better.

I don't have the images any longer but the SIG aluminum and G10 (circa 2011) all measured the same for thickness from front to rear and side to side. Surprisingly the E2 palm swell was the same thickness side to side but the E2 contour thins out at the top providing a shorter distance to the trigger. The polymer grip panels measured the thinnest at the palm swell side to side but lack the contour of the E2 grip.
