TFX Pros at Williams Gun Sights in Davison, MI

Since I decided to keep my new SP2022 after changing the grip insert from the small to the medium I decided to upgrade the sights. I bought the SP2022 with contrast sights at Field & Stream less than a mile from my house on sale, figuring I could change out the sights when I got the itch. As described in a prior post I couldn't shoot the thing worth a damn until I discovered that the small grip frame was installed instead of the medium. Once I made the change it felt like a new pistol.

I had often heard about Williams Gun Sight gun store several times and since it is less than an hour from my house I decided to head there this morning and maybe see what sights are available for my SP. The store is a full line SIG store and carries quite a selection of SIG stuff, all models and calibers, although the selection of P320 grip frames was kind of limited. Their prices were about 10% better than Cabelas and Field & Stream where I have recently bought 3 SIGs, including a P320c, a P320 RX and the SP2022, and the local gun shop where I bought my P226 Legion. The selection otherwise is also top notch, and worth the trip.

I selected a set of TruGlo TFX Pro tritium fiber optic sights which were installed in about 20 minutes. I do like the sights as they really light up when there is light overhead. Not so much when the room is lit without overhead light. Maybe a worthwhile improvement would be to have the sights opened up on the sides as well, particularly on the front sight. I also with the front sight dot were a bit bigger although the orange ring makes it stand out in most lighting conditions so it is differentiated from the rear.

One helpful hint. If you think you may like to have a pistol with night sights, buy it with them even if it means shopping a bit longer. Williams sells the SP2022 with night sights for about only $10 more than I paid for my pistol on sale from Field & Stream!! Yes, I installed a nicer set of sights, but I am not sure it would have been worth the extra $$ it cost me to upgrade.

The sights cost me $140. The install costs $70 (ouch..... Had little choice as I don't have a sight pusher and don't know anyone who does. They did install them right away though).

OUCH, I bought several SP2022 2-Tone NIB with night sights, holster and a FREE SIG laser for $333. Nice sights though.

Williams was about a mile and a half from home when i was a kid.

My pops wasn't much for sports, so our version of "catch" was always a trip to the range behind Williams. I spent about as much time there as I did anywhere outside my own home, and always stop in when I'm back for visits.

Very good selection (for at least the past three decades), quality folk, and my dad was always happy both with the work he got done there and the expertise that was shared with him by the knowledgeable staff.

Also, if you visit in the summer and land on a the right day, one of the range masters has a British Bren that he doesn't mind sharing a few rounds for if you've never gotten to pull the trigger on one of those rigs.

I just ordered a couple sets of these today. They are #8 rear #6 front but $60 for TRX Pro's are about half price. You'll have to call them, they don't take orders online. The guy I talked to was named Mark and he said they were getting sold down so if you want some you might want to call sooner rather than later

A real nice young guy took care of me, and I was impressed with how he listened to me and then double checked when I told him that a set of P series sights would fit on my SP. Don't get that too often it seems.

My brother-in-law lives very close to Williams and it is a very nice area. They had a huge selection of all kinds of guns, especially SIGs which is what I paid attention to, and pretty good prices. I know I could have probably saved a few bucks if I had done my research, but they had the sights in stock, provided excellent service and installed them right away. If I had been smart I would have bought the SP there, with night sights this time, in the first place and saved all kinds of $$! Live and learn.

Yes, buy them from Amazon (preferably when it states sold and fulfilled by Amazon)... I have bought 3 sets so far and installed them myself (a bunch of my friends have done the same). 2 for Glocks and one for my VP9 and I have spent anywhere from $112 to $122 for each set. Love the TFX Pros... also love my x-ray3 sights on my Legion so they will not be changed.

After it became dark I compared the new TFX Pro sights to the SIGLights on my P320c. The rear sights are almost the identical brightness with the SIGLights being just slightly brighter possibly. The SIGLights are noticeably brighter in the front though.

You might want to look into this sight tool, I've only used it once but it's about half what you had to pay and you'd own the tool

So you purchased the sights from them and they still charged $70??

I was at the field and stream you're talking about earlier today. They told me that they can do special orders on basically any firearm and it will be cheaper than the prices they have posted in their fire arm section. (I also live less than a mile from field and stream, I might go check out Williams tomorrow)

I grew up in Grand Blanc. I've been to Williams many, many, many times, to buy, to shoot, to window shop. And I've installed their Firesights on my Buckmark and 10/22. Great company and location.
