I'm wondering about the different variations. Mine came with a loaded chamber indicator. I've seen them without it. Is that standard now? I know they make one with a stainless slide & a compact model, but any other variants/features?

Hello,

I am new to the forum as well and also just purchased a SP2022 in 9mm last week.

Mine also has a chamber indicator and had a medium grip installed

with a spare large grip in the box. I am leaving the trigger alone as it is fine

for me.

Thanks for the help.

How do you tell which grips you have? I don't see a SM/MED/LG marking or anything on them.

I had seen 3 sizes before at a gun show and just remembered which grip I liked the best

and it was medium and this is what was installed on the pistol I bought

with the large grip wedged into the foam slot in the box.

Ccf if you look inside the mold of the grip you will see.a size.indicator. they're marked but small dots. I believe this is how they determine.size. I will find out forbyou today

CCF, and anyone else who has asked this question many times.

As for the factory grips go, here is some information for you. Your Sig P2022 will ship with two grips, being the small and medium. Most of the time the medium grip is standard installed on the pistol. Now how can you tell which is which for sure, well here you go:

Inside the grip there is a part number stamped into the mold. The designation:

SMALL GRIPS = 1600002

MEDIUM GRIPS = 1600003

Large grips DO NOT come with the package and are a completely odd ball part number in which you can locate on the Sig Sauer store website.

------And as for shooting goes:

CCF, have you gotten her out to the range as of yet? I am taking another 500 rounds this weekend. I love the fact that my P2022 is so reliable and accurate. One of the smoothest 9mm's I have ever shot. And after shooting with others family/friends/rentals handguns, I am proud that I made the P2022 my first and only handgun purchase.

Interesting. I was looking at the outside of the grip as the large grip has no stippling on the backstop and the small grip I recall has an internal lanyard.

I will have to look for those dots.

Edit* I did find the numbers and I stand corrected. It did have the medium grip from the factory and the small grip in the box.

Looks are deceiving when off the firearm.

Thank you for the valuable info I am sure someone will ask me about that eventually.

Awesome info. Thanks. The one in the box is a medium so that means mine came with the small installed. You would think the medium would come installed.

Anyway, I'll have to take the small off & see if the medium fits better, although, the small feels pretty good despite my big hands.

My backyard is my range (I live in the sticks). Only had time to put a few rounds through her, but she's been 100%. I love this gun. I'm having a little difficulty adjusting to the long DA pull, which is longer than Glock's DA, but the succeeding SA shots are sweet. I'll likely make this my go-to full-size defensive handgun.

Is it possible to adjust the sights on the sp2022? This is probably because I am a new shooter, but all of my shots at 25 yards are WAY low and to the left. Anyone else?

yes.....I have to hold the front sight above where I want the bullet to impact. I have the factory sights, so it doesn't look like I can adjust elevation. Maybe look into some night sights, wish I would have gotten them already installed.

i guys, im brand new to this forum so id like to say im happy to be here and learn many new things about my guns.

I also have new 2022 9mm but it does not have a LCI or an external extractor! there has got to be a good reason for this right? I called sig and they indicated something about some states have restrictions in that you might have to have a LCI.....

Any feed back would be great

thank you

Adjusting the sights isn't going to make you a better shooter, you just need more disciplined practice is all.....

99.9999999% of the time it's the shooter, and NOT the weapon.

This should fix you up:
