Cannot really go wrong with either. These two models are among my top favorite current-production Sigs. I own three SAS P229s—all in 9mm, though (a German-frame and two others). I do have an older double serial number in 357 SIG that I do enjoy, but rarely shoot. The M11-A1 is a great P229 variant and a proven performer. If it were me, I'd have to give the slight edge to the SAS in 9mm. They are somewhat of a horse a piece, really, but I like the dehorned, melt treatment of the SAS models. They are a very classy looking pistol design.

Both are grade A guns man. Go with what you like the looks of more because that's all there really is to it. The M11 has some cool color options. I carry the Scorpion version and its bad to the bone...

You guys are simply too impatient.
You act like whatever the price is right now is it.
$837.00 out the door for a new 2016 build is a decent deal but you can do better if you simply use patience

In November I bought one on GB with a threaded barrel NIB 2014 build for $761.00 after shipping and transfer (731 bid)
Last month (Feb) I bought a 2016 build NIB on GB for $746.00 with shipping and transfer. (701 bid)

I simply check GB a couple times a week to see if there are any NIB starting at a penny.
Right now there is one with less than 5 days to for at $506.00.
Not saying it will go cheap but after $750.00 I stop considering it because many have gone below 750 and a few below 700 the best was 680 NIB

Patience grasshopper, patience

Like some of the other members here, I'd get the SAS in 357 and get a conversion barrel for 9mm. The SAS model usually come with NS and SRT. The M11-A1 is a great choice too, but more costly if you want to shoot other calibers. You'd have to buy the whole slide. I'm a 40s&w guy but I'd love to shoot 9mm out of my pistol from time to time.

Around 75 bucks isn't worth it to me. I'd rather pay a little more and support my local gun shop.

Both prices are a good deal IMHO.

That is great for your LGS and the price is much better than the LGSs near me.

I wanted 2 and at 837 that would be $1674. I paid $1507 total and I would rather pocket the $167 but that is my choice. (Plus I would not get a 837 price here)

I have a table at the local gun show as a hobby. I check prices against mine and when people I know come in I send them to the guy who has a better price than me.
Some will be nice like you and say they don't mind a few extra bucks but I assure them its the same junk go pay less and believe me 49 out of 50 times they save the money so it works both ways and I am not hypocritical about the game.

The guys that own the LGSs in my area are in a much higher bracket than I am so I do not feel bad and they get the transfer on many guns so make more from me than 90% of their customers who over pay.

The right way is the way you think is right (Now, don't be bidding on that GB M11A-1 LOL)

My LGS has the Nitron M11-A1 for $980, FDE for $1030 and a P229 Combat for $1050. He'll be sitting on those for a while...

Both of y'all are getting a GREAT price!

You did well with that deal.. Personally I prefer the SAS but imo it's not worth any extra.. I was going to suggest buying whichever is cheaper, sounds like that's what you did.
