The right way is the way you think is right (Now, don't be bidding on that GB M11A-1 LOL)
I gave up worrying about how my internet purchases effect the local shops.. They are free to sell their inventory on line just like the guys I'm buying from. If I find myself competing a couple of specific models and take up the salesman's time I'll buy a couple boxes of ammo to something to show a little good will.

My loyalty to the LGS depends on how they treat me. There are two in town I won't bother with, and one that is not bad. And then there is gander mountain....
When I bought my 229 scorpion, I decided to check all the LGS to see how they compared. They were more than $100 off from each other.
I ended up driving 1 hour to another shop that is a Sig stocking dealer. They were $150 cheaper than my LGS. I have since noticed they are consistently about that much lower on all the expensive brands like Sig.

Sometimes it pays to check the "semi LGS" too.
And before anyone says it, 5-6 gallons of gas still comes out cheaper, and it is a nice drive on a Saturday. Plus, I go past that shop periodically, so I usually time my purchases with a planned trip.

I have both.. the MA in 9 and the 229 in 40.
I think it is because I couldn't decide.
