Good luck with your Sig P239. Here is what you can do with it when it is in 40s&w. You can buy 9mm and .357 sig barrels for it. Here is mine with CT laser grips. Posted this many times up again for who may not have seen it.

External dimensions are the same. One is DA/SA, the other DAK--I can't remember which is which.

The external dimensions are based solely on caliber - 40/357 slide is slightly wider than 9mm.

A holster for a Gen 1 will work fine for a Gen 2.

Thanks on the holster.

On the other barrels.... I see some say that you can move between 357 and 40. Others say all three. Which is it? Can I get a 357 barrel and mag and I'm good to go? And where would they be available?

If your gun is .40 or .357 you can shoot all three calibers. The 9mm barrel doesn't fit exactly, but it's close enough to work. The 9mm mags will be a little loose in the mag well as they are 1mm too small.

Try GunBroker for new and used mags and barrels, and SIG Sauer will have brand new ones.

Mine is a 9mm. Does the 357 fit in the 9mm frame?

No, the barrel doesn't fit. Not to mention the .357 SIG mags (basically 10mm) will not fit a 9mm magwell.

[QUOTE=Necron99;2162290]Three months, three Sigs. I kind of wanted to change my standard carry from my Walther PPS 40. Not because of the walther pps, but because of the 40.... so with that flimsy justification in mind (LOL) I bought a P239 SAS. Can't wait to get it to the range.[/QUOTE

To clarify what caliber P239 did you get?

Great handgun to own. I've enjoyed taking mine out and shooting at the range as much as I can. Out of all the Sigs I have shot,My favorites are the P239 9mm P229c 40 cal and P229 Legion 9mm.
I wasn't looking for the 239 when I got it but it was at the LGS and priced at $700 plus tax new so it went home with me. No regrets on buying it.

Congrats, you're going to love it. I've got a 239 SAS in .357 and it one of my favorites to shoot and carry.

For those with the .357/.40, rather than using a loose fitting Sig 9mm barrel, get a Bar-sto Match Target conversion barrel. It'll come oversized so take it to your local gunsmith so they can machine it down to precisely fit the slide.
