AIRFORCEMIKE nice acquisition, I've got a P6 ('78, M405XXX) myself, besides a P225.
I've put SigLites and Hogue G-10s on both. Gives them a little more functionality, and pizazz!

I've also put in the SRT in both, the grips were the last addition to the P6. I've had the 225 since '97, used it as off duty carry and back-up while a cop. It's on it's second set of tritium sights. The SRT kits, and the G-10s have been added within the past year. I got the P6 about 5 years or so ago at the local Gander Mountain, for about what you paid for yours.

Nice P6 with a nice price, AIRFORCEMIKE. The few nice ones I've seen lately are priced a lot higher. I wish I had picked up 2 or 3 of them when they were first imported.

Not a bad price to enter the P6 party, welcome.

My '80 P6 has never jammed with a variety of hollow points.

Thanks. The P225/P6 is my favorite gun. I'm really feeling the itch to buy another.

If you need any help with yours let me know--I know a lot about them. I've also stockpiled quite a few spare parts.

Barrel differences:

Is the photo of the P225 barrel from your 2005 or 1981 P225? If it is the 2005, does the 1981 feedramp also look like that? It is my understanding that the P6 and early P225 barrels were the same, assuming it is the original barrel. Could you post photos of your 1981 barrel? The slide does not appear to be original to your 1981 P225 since it is marked SIGARMS, Exeter, NH, which did not exist in 1981. Thanks. Apologies to AIRFORCEMIKE for the digression.

That photo is a photo that's been floating around the interweb for some time. My 1981 barrel looked just like the P6 barrel. I sold it a few years ago. Good observation on the slide not being original. The original was cracked. SIG made me a good deal on a complete new slide about 5 years ago so I couldn't resist--I gained night sights and a new barrel (both of which I was planning on getting anyway).

I saw a P6 at the gun show on Saturday for $449. It looked good and had more holster wear on the frame. I was going to buy it, but a 1911 Fastback got in the way.
