Signess in bad

Well added two sig 1911's recently, scorpion fastback and spartan.

Perusing the used gun case at the lgs for future purchase based on funds, I found three or four choices.

They have two p226's and two p220's for 325 to 500 dollars.

Choices are:

P226 dao in 40 very few marks with hogue grips 325
P226 in 9 German manufacture, gun is older two tone 500
Two p220 one two tone and one blued with rail both 575

Since I have a txdps p220 two tone, I am leaning to the 9mm.

Thoughts?

Btw: symptoms of signess?
P220
P245 x 2
P229 357&40
P239
1911 tacops
1911 scorpion fastback
1911 spartan
P320 40&9 six different frames

Hard to beat (or possibly lose) with a $325 Sig in great shape? WORST CASE scenario you use it is a truck/glovebox/toolbox gun? WORST WORST case you take it to a gun show and sell it for $500?

Sorry, an intervention won't work. Even if one screws up the courage to resist for a long period of time, you'll drive yourself crazy and end up in the nut house in a funny white jacket.

klj, I would tend to go with the P226 9mm, as the price for the DAO is nice, if you were to convert it to DA/SA, it would cost a couple of hundred to do, and if you didn't like it being a .40, then it would be another hundred or more for a barrel.

When you say it is a two tone, you mean nickeled slide and controls? Being German, means it more than likely has the older carbon steel "folded" slide. That means replacement firing pins, and extractors will be costly, as they're scarcer than "Hens Teeth"!

I guess it would depend on your plans for it. EDC and "range use/fun gun" have 2 entirely different requirements.

I would say that you do exhibit the symptoms of having the "Signess"... but don't worry, it's not "Deadly" to "YOU"!!!

I would snag the P226 in 9 German manufacture, gun is older two tone for $500 if it's in good condition.
