I have a 239, but it's in 40. So I can't help with a bullet selection. I like the gun and shoot it well. A guy could do a whole lot worse than a 239, IMO.

Hey, another pilot!! Welcome, there are a few of us here. For the most part, we are tolerated pretty well by the non-pilot majority.

Wait a sec' now, if you are alluding to a Glock by that remark, GCBHM will be along shortly to straighten you (or me) out!

I also recommend the fed hst in either 124 or 147 gr. They feed great for me.

I don't have a 239, but AmmoQuest commented after testing the 124, 124 +P, 147 & 147 +P that they all worked remarkably well from his 3" barrel. MassAmmo has the 124 for $18/box of 50. (Correction, HAD) The 124 has been priced lower than the other 3 for a while. Time will only tell when they restock what the cost will be, but they have been sub $22 per box for a while.

I no longer have any 9 mm's, strictly 357 Sig, .45 cal. and .40 cal. The 357 Sigs will eat anything due to the tapered cartridge.

I have been shooting and carrying Winchester Ranger T's in all calibers for years and never had a problem.

I use Winchester PDX1 124 grain +p in my 239 and it seems to like it. I haven't shot a lot of it,but no problems with what I have shot.

I run Speer GD on all my defensive guns, (my 239 is in .40 though) but if a gun is going to fail with HPs, it be with the Hornady's, don't understand how can they still be in business.
