Graphite lube

Has anyone here used graphite weapons lube before?

I was thinking about trying some out for when I go camping in the desert; I hate scrubbing sand out of patches of CLP.

Graphite grease is a mix of lithium grease and graphite powder. I tried it with a SIG 550 and a 9mm P220. It works well but it's messy but it's not any better than lithium grease with MoS2 additives. Grease is the dust catcher. It does it with or without the graphite or MoS2 additives.
When you worry about a stoppage form sand, dust or mud, I'd rather worry about the holster or the amount of grease used, then the lube type in general. My experience with SIG small arms from a non US military service is, that they run dry also, without any problem and it does not really matter what type of lube you are using. Graphite grease is good also.

Thanks OTD. I was thinking about it, but my light coat of CLP/Militec-1 on my slide rails should do the trick in most environments (especially Southeast Texas.) I'll probably run my guns mostly dry in desert; wiping them down with CLP and wiping that off until dry.

Does anyone here have any experience with how quickly SIGs corrode when kept near the beach? I usually clean my carry P290 twice a week, but only clean my other guns after every range trip.
