Where did you see or hear the 226 Elite SAO was being discontinued? What do you mean "black dot"? The black dot on the price tag? This is news to me, tho I am by no means in the loop!

I've noticed on GB that a search gets you gobs of Legions and RXs and maybe one or two Elites, tho often none. Bought my second one back in October for $899.00 with the one and only bid at starting price with no reserve. Two on there now at $949 and $959 no reserve but BIN of $1099. 12 Legion/RX, they do seem to be the odd one out at the moment.

I love mine and everyone that has fired them pretty much falls in love with the triggers, which are still stock. I've contemplated getting another one and just storing it in the safe, tho I don't really like that idea.

My original Scorpion idea was to have both the frame and the slide each a little more green. I let the coater talk me into moving my color choice one step towards brown. I like it fine, but kinda wish I had stayed with my original choices. Not sure I'm that unhappy to spend another $1500ish to find out tho.

The black dot signifies that once they run out of stock they can sell the floor model

I was told by a Sig Pro Shop employee that the SAO is discontinued

Gotcha!! I'm a bit too far away to shop there. I might have to rethink my game plan. Not wild about multiples of the same gun, but......

I looked around for a while for a used SAO since I was getting it coated anyhow, but they either didn't exist or were $50 less than new.

You guys should ask specifically if the 226SAO is discontinued or also the 226SAO-RX is a temporary run or will continue to be available. It seems like when the Legion SAO shipped sig stopped making the 226SAO (obvious reasons) but then as Romeo production ramped up has offered the 226SAO-RX in 2017. Great for customers!

Black dot means end of life product. The guys working at the Shop probably don't know much more than that. Just what the suits probably pass down to them.
