The only drawbacks to a Glock for me is ergonomics and trigger system. (I personally prefer DA/SA) On the other side of the coin is my P225A1, it is basically the same size as G19 but it is heavier and holds only about half the ammo. That said, the P225A1 has absolutely the best ergonomics of any gun I've ever held in my hand. It is also an absolute joy to shoot.
Great info to hear about the 225! I also have a 19 and it just works and is accurate, but?

You've casually indicated your fondness for Glocks in posts past -and often too. So nothing personal, just an obvious Glock target of opportunity in a mostly SIGTalk sky. Wife says I'm straight, so no worries there either. Buck up, no offense intended. But if you are still, let me know and I will consider you unmentionable unless I'm spoken to - I do have a proper side, albeit a slim one.
Oh I'm just hackin on ya, bump. I carry a Glock, and really appreciate them for what they are, but I do actually like several other guns better. The BHP, 1911, P226 and HK VP9 would all come in front of the Glock for me in terms of fit/finish, joy in shooting, etc., and really only the Glock 19 appeals to me even more than other models simply b/c of its sheer versatility. When I consider cost, benefit, etc., nothing else beats it for me, and I have tried, brother! I don't mind the good natured banter, though. Makes it all fun around the board.

But what? There's no but. The G19 I view as an appliance that works very well and serves the purpose. You really can't beat it for a dependable tool. The P225A1 though is on a different level as far as, it really feels like an extension of your own body, that shoots bullets. That's the best way I can think of to describe how perfect that gun feels, points and shoots. I got mine a month ago and haven't been without it since, I really like it that much. I've got a 226 and 229s and have had those for years. They all are great guns. All I can say is get them all and definitely the P225A1, you will thank me.

His duty weapons included a Glock 17 and a Sig 226. He said the Sig was an "8 hour gun" and his Glock is a "12 hour Gun". Because I rarely wear my weapons for those time frames--I defer to him when I am planning on longer days (like going on 16 hour drives) and choose a Glock for that. Pretty sure he was right. A Glock is more comfortable after the 8th hour.
I can appreciate this in light of LEO's carrying a lot more than just their pistol. That said, I carry my P239 16 - 17 hours a day almost every day (except rare P938 days) and don't find it objectionable at all.

The But! is just like you stated it's an appliance, that works. what I was looking for is the exact analogy you use for the 225A1. Thank you!

Little bit of an update, stopped at range and shot this morning and rented the 229 legion again, still the same not in love with it no wow factor. On my way home I wandered in to another shop. Found a few 9 and 40 2 tones, With the pricing
What it was on a 2 tone E2 grip 229 in 9, I wavered from my original plan and a Used 2-tone 229R followed me home lol,
I had the opportunity to also check out the 226 legion SAO,

Oh the mandatory pics included,
The 229 on the left is new to me. The 229 on the right is the one that started it all. It's a .40
