Thoughts? Which direction?

Input Which sig?
Being a 1911 fan I had been saving up for a higher end 1911 chambered in 9mm
Picked up on the cheap a 229 40sw, DAO, converted it to DA/SA.
Signess Bit lol so the higher end 1911 is on hold.
Was out at a couple Lgs and handled a new 225 A1 and the legion SAO 226, and 229 legion. Tossed between those 3? My go to CCW is a Glock 43, so CCW is not a priority. The 226 legion is close to a 1911 but?
I am torn between the 226 SAO and the 225 A1 with the 229 legion sitting at #3
I had a chance to rent a 229 legion and put 50 rounds through it and honestly was not overwhelmed,
Got Signess bad lol,

Dump the Glock and get a P320.

Get the Legion.

Put money down to hold the 226.

You will then have the trifecta of Sig's.

Did your new SigNess lead you to a P220 SAS Carry??

.45 ACP is nice. Any of the other 3 you like are great guns. Tough decision.

Being a 1911 fan, the Legion SAO would have the same operation that you are familiar with, which is never a bad thing! And many( myself included) like the 226 grip over the 1911. So what is not to like- the 226 grip with a 1911 operating system- best of both worlds. And the Sig works out of the box!

Between the three I say get the 226.

The 225 is way too big and heavy for a single stack 9mm. Might as well get something not much larger with more capacity.

While the 229 is a nice option, I don't see why you'd want one since you said you shot one and weren't overly impressed.

You have a 229 DA/SA, so I'd go back to the 226 sao and the 225 and see which you like more. We don't have an sao however we have have a couple 226's and the 225, I tend to find the "fun factor" of shooting either platform to be about the same.

Whatever you do, DoN't check out any of the cz's. Doing so could potentially make your decision tougher.

Maybe look into on of the RX platforms, if you're looking to explore the space a bit?

Well you certainly have good taste! As I understand it, your EDC gun is set, no need to dump it and get a P320. I always laugh at that kind of stuff...but back to the quandry, as it were, the 226 and 225 are both fine guns. I really like the Legion, but you're not as hot on it as the former. My personal preference is the P226 over the 225. I just think it is a more versatile gun, but you really can't go wrong either way. Like IOMH suggested, get the one you like the best first...then you can get the other one later. I had a P220 SAO and thought it was pretty nice, so I don't know why the 226 wouldn't be. It may give you enough of the 1911 you like while also giving you a little more versatile gun with the capacity.

Thank you all for great insight, the 320 is out for CCW, GF has a 320 and just.....
if I were to buy a 320 down the road it would be full size with Romeo sight then put the compact grip frame on it. Definatley leaning 226,

Everyone has a story they will tell you about their favorite Sig. For me it was my 226 (9 mm, JK stamp on barrel) I got in 1989 (90?). Anyway it was been so sweet shooting it started my Sig collection (what my wife calls it).

As for Glocks they are dependable...However many of us want dependable, precise and accurate (in our Sig’s) when we are shooting this summer against our family members for who buys the beer...So yea If I would do it all over again I would get the 226 ( and the 229 if my wife said yes)...

And, GCBHM has pent up Glock love! If nobody was watching to think it perverted, he'd probably lick it or slather a wet smooches upon it!

First, decide what you want or need using the male purchasing formula:

Want X Need = Buy

Consider that lots of want and almost no need still equals Buy (and visa versa).

Seriously, if you like your P229, does it have a rail? If yes, consider getting one without a rail - or the other way around. As you know, there are some nice LEO turn-ins (just make sure you get one in DA/SA so you don't have to spend money converting it).

If you don't plan to carry your P229 and just range or HD it (and I have no idea why as it's the greatest carry gun ever made), then consider a P226 or a stainless framed version like the Elite - the added weight, while not making for such a happy carry experience, will put a smile on your face as it shoots so well.

Legion? I'm not a fan. The pretty finish, while many find just fine, is widely held to be lacking in durability. Like a statuesque blonde, there's a certain appeal, but down the road . . .

You have a Glock 43 for carry, going all SIG, the even smaller P938 is worth a look. And if you do lick it, there's no plastic aftertaste.

LOL! No worries...I certainly have no issues with anyone discarding any gun they don't care much for.

There is nothing pent up here. I'm free with my thoughts of the Glock, but I also love plenty of others as well. I am starting to think you have some pent up something for me, however. Not sure how I feel about that.

I'm with Bumper on the P229 being the greatest carry gun ever made. I think I still prefer the P226 in general, but the P229 beats it for carry. In fact, I have one on my hip as I sit here in Starbucks and type this.

I love the P229. It is an extremely versatile gun. Are the 18 round 226 magazines compatible with the 229? I have honestly never thought about it, but if so, that may make it an even more versatile carry gun. One of the reasons I run the G19 is b/c I can use G17 mags with it, and its size/weight are superb for a carry gun, but I do really, really like the 229.
