Just got my first sig and its on its way back to the store

As the title days i just purchased my first sig suaer after doing alot of reasearch on all the various p22 types guns i came across a used p224 sas i stripped it and it looked like it didnt have to many rounds through it for $550 so i picked it up and after taking it out today it turns out it fails to feed about 1 in 10 rounds

Now im debating beacuse the store will credit the price on uses guns if returned in 30 days on if i should get the brand new m11-a1 for $880 or if i should go back to what im more familiar with and get a a compact 1911 from them not sure witch they have a few but thats beside the point

Ive only ever herd good things about these sigs just have some natural feelings of discouragment

I know im not asking any real question but any feedback would be appreciated

Thanks everyone

The P224 is a discontinued model that I never wanted. I think I'm in the apparent majority because it didn't last long in production. Sig took forever getting the bugs worked out and getting the 224 to market in the first place. Sig just has IMHO better options in the compact category (239 or 225). The M11A1 on the other hand is one fine weapon. My advice would be take the 224 back and get that M11A1, it's really more midsize though.

Call SIG, it likely needs an extractor fix. This was a common problem with the 40cal guns built in 2013 and maybe 2014. There are some good threads here about the 224 40 cal issues. Either way call SIG they'll likely fix you up for no cost. I love my 224's but there is no denying the early issues.

I occasionally have issues with that stuff in my P220. Try a different brand of ammo before deciding to give it back.

I have 7 Sigs, anywhere from an all German P226, stainless sigs, American sigs, polymer sigs, you name it. My P224 is my favorite! I had to send my brand new P224 .40 back to Sig on day 1. I got it back in less than two weeks and it has run 100% since. Never a failure of any kind since I got it back. A lot of haters on this forum on the P224, but a lot of us love them. Seriously, my favorite sig! Send it back to Sig asap, chances are you"ll have it back in 14 days, then you decide on what to do.

I can't stand dealing with problem guns. It might be something simple but for me I would go get the brand new M11-A1.

Thats a shame. I feel the 224 is one of the most under appreciated builds sig ever produced. I love my 357 sas. Im in the market for another 1 or 2 if i ever cross paths with them in person or online

One of my P224s had FTF issues. I shot it, cleaned the **** out of it and shot it some more. Now totally reliable and one of my favorite carry guns.
