I'm going to order a few of the newer safety levers (Lever-9). A few spares to keep on hand and two to use now.

My P229 Elite from 2010 has the short lever in it and I was planning to replace it anyway. I bought it used and it shows a lot of wear on both ends. I'm positive that the "new" take down procedure was never followed on it.

I have found SIG customer service to be exemplary. I only mentioned about voiding the warranty when doing armorer level work because I think people should make informed decisions. If someone wants to change their own trigger out, more power to them, but they should at least know that they are voiding their warranty beforehand. SIG also state not to use +P+ ammo, but that certainly doesn't stop me from doing it...but I do so with the knowledge that it is a calculated risk.

IWI has no such issue, the Tavor owners manual might as well be an armorer manual...but most gun companies are not that way.
Understood, but does it really have to said? I figured this is common knowledge...like the risk you take when you modify your car in some manner.

I can't answer that, but my opinions would be "yes". Here's the reason, cars are more common that firearms. Many folks who we see come on this forum and other gun forums are fairly new to firearms. They see people talking about trigger changes and posters recommend following youtube videos...all with no mention that it voids warranties. I don't believe that it is common knowledge. Experienced firearm owners are probably up to speed, but that is not necessarily a large portion of the folks who come seeking information.

Not to be argumentative squared, but does a used non CPO Sig have a warranty?

I'm actually being serious, I've said no to a used Sig or two because I'd rather spend $100 more for lifetime warranty.
