My First 1911

Just bought a Sig 1911 Nickel Rail at my local gun store the other day. I'm no famous YouTuber in any way but I shot a video today of me shooting it for the first time and my first impressions of the gun. Take a look if you would like.

The RSO in me wants to ask 'where's your eye protection sir?'
The traditionalist in me wants to say 'they are magazines not clips.'
The admirer in me says 'nice gun and nice place to shoot. Wish I had some place like that.'

Enjoy it.

Congrats on the 1911 and welcome to SigTalk. I hope you enjoy your time here. And as been mentioned, safe yourself some grief and wear ya some eyes. Greetings from the flat lands of Kansas.

Until you use eye pro you cannot be allowed to carry your 1911 MAN Card -- sorry.

A real beauty--congrats! My first 1911 was a Springfield Range Officer Operator in 9mm. I like 9mm but I'm sure I will end up with a "real" 1911 some day. But not my next one. Found a beautiful Sig 1911 in 9mm at my LGS so I have that on layaway. Maybe next time.

The eye protection has been purchased! Definitely a rookie and I appreciate the positive feedback. Thanks.

There isn't any handgun as fine as a quality 1911, just saying.
John M. Browning got it right.
Welcome to the forum.

I have to say I just joined a local gun club and this is the first time I've used eye protection consistently while shooting in oh I don't know 30 years. So you'll get no grief from me there. Having said that it isn't a bad idea and I've taught my fiancee to wear hers while shooting. And when my daughter is old enough you can be sure she will be taught to use hers.

Congrats on your new pistol, it's purdy!
