stovepipe...possible limp wristing
slide not locking open....thumb riding slide lock/rlease
ftf....if e2 grips were off, the trigger bar spring may not be in correct position or bent.

If you really are gripping the pistol like it shows in your photo, that could explain the stovepipes, like Bearone2 said... You need to have the web of your thumb way higher, up underneath the backstrap/ beavertail. That will reduce a lot of the limp wristing problems. .357 SIG is a hot round (ballistically almost identical to a 125 grain 357 Magnum). Gripping it the way you are could easily cause a great many problems. Like Bear said, SIGs have a very long reset without the SRT, and if you're coming from a different platform, that could explain the dry fire problem.

I don't mean to be rude, but my guess is that most of your issues are going to end up being operator error. For a P226 to have that many different issues is very suspicious. Before sending it in I'd definitely recommend having someone else who is familiar with SIGs try it out.

Operator error not likely. No issues with my P6, P229, SP2022 or any of my HKs...or any of Glocks when I carried them as duty weapons. Since all issues seemed to have started at the same time after 100-150 rounds or so of seemless fire they seem to be all related. Since I've had gun field stripped, I didn't see any broken parts...not to say there isn't something I can't see.

It's a stock photo. I'm probably at least as familiar w/ Sigs as you. Two great answers in a row...pulling a trigger and having the hammer drop and the gun doesn't go bang...then drop the mag and one handed it fires...PLEASE..guessing is wasting my time. If you haven't seen this issue before don't bother guessing...THANKS..not to be rude.

Were any of the pistols you just mentioned chambered in 357 SIG? It's a different breed than 40 or 9...

I've been carrying Glocks as duty weapons for many years myself...nobody in any police academy/ department range-master/ or FTO taught you to hold a pistol the way you are in that photo... My apologies if my comments offended you, I'm just trying to help diagnose the issues.

I would still recommend having another shooter try your pistol out. it may very well have nothing to do with your shooting style, but that would be a nice, easy way to rule out possible causes. It certainly couldn't hurt anything. The first thing I do when I have an issue with a weapon is give it to a buddy to try out. None of us are infallible.

I just saw your response...you put up a stock photo of someone with poor trigger discipline and a bad grip holding the exact model of P226 you're asking about??? Really? I just did a google search and that photo isn't coming up anywhere. But of all the P226 Enhanced Elite photos on the web, that's the one you chose...why wouldn't you mention that it was a stock photo in your immediate reply to my post? Your photo in question is now conveniently deleted...

...I guess so, if you're also a SIG armorer. But if you are, I'm curious why you didn't do more than a field strip looking for your "broken parts"...

I was genuinely trying to help in my first response. Now I'm done with this thread.

You're logging onto an online forum and asking folks to diagnose, over the internet, problems you are having with one of your firearms. Surely you understand that anything we are going to give you is going to be a guess (although some folks here are able to provide extremely educated guesses)?

There are a lot of very smart and generous people here who are happy to share their knowledge and time to try to assist folks who need it. If you are going to stick around here, I suggest you try to respect those who respond to your requests for help by receiving their feedback with humility and gratitude rather than scorn and sarcasm.

Welcome to the forum, and I hope we can look forward to valuable contributions from you.

Wow. You ask for help with a problem and then tell people not to waste your time. Practice what you preach.
