The HK45 is to the USP what the Mk25 is to the P226. Basically the same thing, with a few custom advances for hard use.

You could always buy a stainless steel frame model of the P226 also and they look really cool IMO.

Never ever heard of anyone wearing on of those out.

Never said they didn't.

It wasn't a USP that killed Bin Laden.

Oh, I thought you meant that context in the P226 vs USP topic. Sorry.

And I don't believe it's been confirmed, but I don't think it's a likely assumption that a P226 killed bin Laden, either. I believe it was assumed to be a carbine.

EDIT: According to Chuck Pfarrer's book, it was an HK416. Take that as you may.

The HK UPS is not favored with the Special Naval warfare center men. It,s to big and clunky and short on firepower. The Sig 226 is first choice by the men that use them. And they use them well.

Interesting that you actually looked that up to prove a point, but alas.

Have a nice day !

I think it was pretty universally reported that it was a carbine not a pistol that was used on Bin Laden. Obviously they would be using primary weapons as much as possible and would not likely have gone to a backup. We'll likely never know the official "true" story however. It was also reported though that the team's loadout contained 226s, I don't recall a Mk 23 or any HK pistol being mentioned but again it's not like we'll ever get confirmation.

The head was intact not blown like a melon from a carbine rd. Only a pistol rd would have left it intact. Coup de-grace.

Muzzle velocity, range, and bullet type are so variable that I have a hard time accepting that as irrefutable fact. Who's to say that a subsonic carbine round wouldn't impact similarly to a pistol round?
