If they are MecGar, I would buy with confidence even though I have no direct experience with the 18 rounders. All their other magazines are spot on.

I use them and so far so good.

I have never really heard of a problem with ANY Mecgar mag for a P226/P228/P229 unless it had been well used and needed cleaning or spring replacment.

I would stay away from Checkmate and Promag however for the P226/P228/P229, especially Promag.

Mec Gar are great mags. But then they should be. Mec Gar makes the mags that say "Sig" on them.

I have two of the Mec Gar 18-round 9mm mags for my P226, and they are as good as it gets.

Mec Gar

I have 6 of the Mec-Gar optimal 18 rounders, They have a different finish than the 3 that came with my 226E2. Easier to load, slide into and out of gun easier and never had a problem with any of them.

If I'm not mistaken MecGar made magazines for Sig... I think the 18 rounders should be okay... I'm from California, so I'm restricted to 10 rounders.

Mec-Gar makes factory mags for many manufacturers like SIG. They are good stuff.

I always stay away from cheapos like "Pro-Mag". They are worthless, imo.

All I use are MecGar 18 round mags for my 226. They have functioned flawlessly without exception. I wouldn't use anything but them now.

I have some for my 229, and they work great. Will be looking at picking some spares up for my 226 soon.

I have new 18 rd mags for my P226R and they work as well as the 15 rd mags. I also recommend the UpLULA loader for the 9mm. It fast and my senior fingers love it.
