P226, Plain Jane or Enhanced
I'm considering on adding a P226 40s/w to My collection. Use will be for target and combat sports. Classic Nitron ($930) or Enhanced Elite ($???). Your thoughts appreciated

I have the Elite in stainless and love it. The finish becomes an issue depending on what you are buying it for - carry - target/range - home defense. I just like the stainless matte finish. The stainless is going to be a heavier pistol. So for the range is the finish an issue? What do you like?

I think a 9mm is the better idea if use for sport shooting. As for personal taste, I am getting a p229 Elite Dark this week. I like the beavertail end on it though. I would say either would be a fine choice but in the end it is personal choice on what you want. I'd say Enhance Elite it though. More options and less you have to pay if you want to upgrade your basic Nitron

Have My glock 17 for 20yrs. Finally replaced guide rod and spring with a 15 pounder. Noted better lockup and increased accuraccey. The sig is a 60th bday gift to myself. Will be tradeing in sig p250 45/40. nys has a 10 round max capassity for non law enforcmet personel.
I also plan on handloading My 45, 40 and 380 ammo. By the way My glock is grandfathered with 2 17 round mags.

Like I sead before cant get rid of My glock 17. p226 tactical has nitron slide short trigger beavertail and 4 mags. Price diff only $100 more then plain jane model. Went with 40cal so I can convert to 357sig and maybe 22cal and intend to reload to keep cost down
