FTF follow ups

I purchased an SP2022 9mm for myself as a fathers day present to myself. First time at the range chambered first round, fired. Second round was FTF. This happened continously. Found that the slide was not cocking hammer back completely on follow up shot. I had to cock the hammer to get a follow up shot. I called Sig and have sent the pistol back.
Just wondering if anyone has heard of this problem?

I have a Sept. 2011-made 2022 in 9mm. Nothing but sweetness so far. I run only the factory 9mm 15-round mags in it.
It sounds like Sig took care of the OP. Good for him, and them.

I have a SP 2022 40 cal and it is has jamming problems. I've shot the gun twice-first time 250 rounds and jammed 9 times.

The secone time it shot better but jammed about 6 times going through 150 rounds. I have noticed that the factory mags are ever so slightly loose at the bottom-not sure if it is sipposed to be like that.

And yes, I have cleaned it very good more than once but the problem still exists.

But, I love shooting it and hope SIG can help me on this. From what I've read SIG will either fix the gun and test it or replace it, so I'm not terribly worried I guess.

I have Sept. 2011 2022. Other than a few failure to fires with WWB, it's been flawless.

I'm having a similar issue. However, about once every 10 rounds. I called Sig and the guy said that maybe it's a worn out recoil spring however I highly doubt it as I've shot only about 1000 rounds and certainly less than 2000 rounds.

I looked at my ejector and it seems to show a bit of wear. Does anyone else see this kind of wear on their 2022? (Pardon the fuzz :-P)

Here's also a link to the behavior on

jjoejj;

Looks like the round is striking the face of the extractor, not riding up behind it. I donb't have mine right here but IIRC mine does not have that ring. Gotta check. Thanks for the pix.

OK:

We have 3 SP2022's. All bought new.

1 is flawless with about 800 rds thru it.

1 is flawless with maybe 300 rds thru it.

1 the slide would not reliably go into battery. SIG provided label, sent back, invoice said slide fitted and feed ramp polishged. Now it is flawless with about 200 rds thru it.

ok its been a few months and here is an update.

The 2022 had been back out on the range several times and i have still had a few FTE issues, maybe 10 out of 500 rounds. i would generally say this is more due to specific ammo rather then the gun.

txshurricane- thanks for seeing that i was not bad mouthing SIG or anything they have done i was just on here expressing my disappointment in misfortune of getting well a LEMON SIG.

jph1589- the mags i had tried using were 2022 mags marked for .40 cal s&w NOT SMITH & WESSON mags. they are exactly the same as the 9mm mags the inner block is of a different size... this was only after talking to a friend at the range who had at the time put over 2,000 rounds through his 9mm 2022 with marked .40 cal S&W mags. also i spent some time measuring, checking the two inside and out comparing the 9mm & .40 cal mags...

anyways just thought id get back to everyone with an update

i was skeptical to, and i was also frustrated that my gun wad not working properly and was willing to try anything. so i figured id try them out as well to see if they would have a different outcome... and they worked great, fed and fired without issues. however no matter what it seemed i would have failure to extract issues no matter what i did. tried 5 different 2022 9mm mags, 2 different 2022 marked .40 cal s&w mags

jjojjojoe- ill take a look at mine tonight and compare to your pics
