Mec Gar P226 9mm and P226 40 mags the same/interchangeable
I was sorting thru my mags before going to the range today and noticed that the Mec Gar +2 P226 9mm mag is the exact same form factor as the Mec Gar P226 40 cal mag with the exception that the 9mm has an index mark for 18 rounds and the 40 for 13 rds. I put a few 9mm rounds in the "40 mag" and it functioned perfectly in my P226 MK-25.

The feed lips on the .40 magazine will be a little wider than the 9mm magazines feed lips, but close enough to prevent the 9mm rounds from "falling out", and they will allow the 9mm rounds to ride higher in the magazine, in relation to the feed ramp and breechface.
It has been mentioned here for quite some time that they could be recommended for use as "range magazines", but for a life of death scenario, only put your trust in the correct magazines... the choice is ultimately "yours"!
