New Sig 220R still great 45acp

Born this year 2012 it is very well finished and fit. DA/SA smooth and crisp. New Nitron finish very well done. There are many non-1911 45acps out there from FN,Glock,HK,SW,but the 220 fit my hand the best and felt good in my hand. And it feels like a real gun not a polymere cap gun shaped like a 2X4. Fit and finish looked better than all the above. Now to the range. One fine well built 45acp with a few decades of pedigree in reliability and above average accuracy.

I have the same gun but mine is the newer P229R Compact. Love the gun but now I wish I had purchased a SAO model. I love the decocker and DA/SA, but since I now pocket carry my Sig P238, I want a waistband gun with the same method of operation, i.e., carry cocked and locked, sweep off the safety, and bang. I have several 1911 style full size guns, but prefer to carry Sig. Well enough about that, you got a great gun!!

Shot the 220 this afternoon, but limited to 50 rds at 7yds . Due to today was M4 range day. At 7yds it shot very good DA first shot and a fast second double tap. Decocked and up for two more . Repeated this combat tap for 4 mags. Then slow fire andSA and it cloverleafed . Only 50 rds and %100 reliable. Will have to go out on a private shoot for a few hundred rounds. I carryed the 220 all day and was glad it fired %100. I trust Sigs to work out of the box.

Glad you liked it. Now clean it up good and remember to grease the slide and rails (Sigs like to run wet!) and get ready for another session.

200rds more at 7yds to 25yds slowfire. The 220R ran smooth and reliable . I have shot today side by side with my pals HK45c. Both he and I shot the both and did better with the 220r. The Hk45c choked once on its second 100rds. The Hk mag release is not ergo friendly. Both shooting ww white box and accuracy goes to the Sig. No wonder HK handguns are such small players on the Military&LE markets with there odd handguns.

I really like my Sig P220 Carry Elite. I shoot it more accurately than my other Sigs for some reason and it really is good looking. Good luck with your Sig. http://i1126.photobucket.com/albums/...r/DSC_0081.jpg
