I have the Sig P220 Carry Elite Stainless - I love it. It is heavy but very accurate. http://i1126.photobucket.com/albums/...r/DSC_0081.jpg

P220r sao

I purchased my first Sig, a P220R SAO, a couple weeks ago. I was looking for an SR1911 but they are tough to come by and my dealer made me a deal on this Sig I could not pass up. I only have about 100 rounds down range but...

I love it.

Now I've got to get used to the SAO trigger and narrow (compared to my double stack 9mm) grip. At 21 feet, put 7 of 10 in a 1.25" group and pulled the other 3 'flyers' to stretch it to 4". (Drat! Gotta stop the sympathetic squeeze on ALL the shots, not just 70% of them) But I guess that is just an excuse to put more range time in!

Admitting ignorance...what is the 220R? I don't see this on the Sig site.

A 220r is a compact 220 with short barrel and hand grip. Like the price too just over a grand.

Thr 'R' designates that it is a 220 with an accessory rail.

OIC...thanks. Not a huge fan of accessory rails. Pistols end up looking like James Bond's aqualung in "Thunderball".

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. It's mighty hard to mount a WML without a rail, though.

Seriously though; I have maybe 4K rounds through my 220R Carry & it's functioned flawlessly. The 220R is GTG.

Ahhh...maybe it is the soft headed traditionalist...a laser is just one more thing to break when you need it. What Sig REALLY needs to produce is a nice .38 revolver...
