So the German 'unmarked CIA' P228 took a trip. I was a little concerned because when the slide goes back, the barrel DROPS IMMEDIATELY and I thought I might get actually get a rare inaccurate SIG. I guess that fear is unfounded. The stray rounds around the hole (that was the center) were attempts adjusting to the trigger. Once I dialed the trigger in, it was dead nuts accurate. The first several in the big hole was one small hole, then I kept pumping rounds in. These are at 7 yards. I SHOULD have went out to 15 and then single handed at 7 also, but didn't get to it.
All cheap Tula. It likes it and is plenty accurate with it. Go Walmart.
Very nice and pleasant to shoot. It beats the SP 2022 a TINY bit in comfort, but not much. The SP 2022 comes back on target just as well - but more like an AK - more movement, but nice. The DA is a little shorter in the 228, but a tad heavier. I wlll say that the 228 DA is ABSOLUTELY smooth. SA has a tiny creep, then a glass rod like break. Nice.
[This is an endorsement of the SP 2022 also].
VERY nice gun. I understand their popularity.
[In case you just dialed in, I call it a special contract CIA gun because it does NOT say Made in Germany or West Germany at all], and I'm sticking to that story. BTW - guns made later than this one (99) say Made in Germany. So it MUST be a special contract.
