re: P224

Interesting that it's almost exactly the same size as the Beretta 9000s. It was as a double stack polymer too made from 2002 to 2007. I have one in 40 S&W, no problems and handles well. Most didn't like the 9000s for one reason or another, wonder how the P224 will do?

Mee too, I want a 9mm DA/SA though, and who knows how long it will be until we see those. Bud's had the DAK .40 on their site (not in stock though) but they're still not listed as in stock on any distributor's sites.

Looks like at least June. For those wanting 9mm, probably not until summer of 2013.

I don't think the P224 is California compliant, so I have not seen one.

There is a write up in this month's American Rifleman.

I'm waiting for the 9mm to be released before I buy.

The original plan was to have the .40/DAK version on the street before the NRA next month in St. Louis. It now looks like around June 1st is the best they're going to do. That's the best guess that Sig is giving distributors like RSR. I'm really hoping the P224 doesn't turn out to be another P290 nightmare.

I don't see it as going to be a nightmare like the 290. Two different animals there. The 224 is just a cut down version of the 229 so I would guess the internals would be the same as the full size version. And the 290 was polymer framed, DAO. I am hoping for a nice, easy to carry gun with no problems from the get go.
