I thought it might be beneficial to the forum to have some additional classic series pistol reference material available for use here on the forum. Occasionally questions are asked that are answered with verbiage and sometimes static pictures. These animations bring the pistol operation to life (and I think they are just interesting to watch too).
To get the animation to play (if it's not already started), all you have to do is click on any area of the image, give it a second or two to load up, and then enjoy the show
Disclaimer: I do not take credit for the content or original animation shown. This original information (and a whole lot more) is a part of the Interactive Armorer's Course. All I have done is convert the original embedded flash animation to a format that will play on the forum for the use of the forum members and guests. If you purchase this product you can also click on just one step to see exactly how that one step works, rotate the animation, and zoom in/out on all of the animations - which is very helpful to better understand the operation and troubleshooting of the classic line of pistols. The course is available directly from Sig Sauer for $20. (ETA 11/9/14 - apparently no longer offered)
There is a separate post below for each item covered.
FWIW I spoke with Sig CS a few min ago according to them the Interactive Armorer CDs are no longer available. I believe the person I spoke to was Josh and he said he thought they were being redone but could not provide an estimate as to when or even if they would be available. If anyone has a source that is still offering the Sig CDs please let me know. I will be placing an order for the Chris Orndorff DVD at TGS that was linked above bu Incar.
Or for now of-course use this wonderful thread! And slowly make copies and place on your pc drive! I was lucky to have the DVDs from Sig and this thread and copies all used as resources....and yes It would be mice for newer simple version remade for masses from Sig....we'll see...
These animations really helped me show my wife and daughter how these pistol work.
Way easier than trying to explain to them . I will use these to teach my grand kids as well.

Seriously, awesome thread! I only found it because I Googled how to switch my new (to me) P239's magazine lever back to, as God intended, a right-handed position!
I practiced on my P229, and DIDN'T use the plastic bag trick. Yes, it went flying across the room, but luckily I have outstanding hearing as well as tile floors (as do most homes in Florida). Even then, I found the magazine catch stop within 30 seconds, but the sprind inside it took more like 20 minutes.
And yes...large Ziploc bags are on my grocery list; I won't make that same mistake again (although I said this 5 months ago; sometimes I just don't listen!).
Thanks again for comprising these awesome animations in one thread!

I'm fairly new to pistol shooting and have enjoyed learning all I can. Those are by far the best and easiest to follow animations I have found anywhere!! Thanks so much.
