New P229 first outting.

I took my new 229 out to the tracks today to give her a whirl... Wow. I shot 175 shots at 10 yards and i dont know that ive ever spun those 3 inch plates so much. It took me about 3 mags to get my stuff together and after those 3, look out... I was starting to forget how much fun i could have just shooting. Absolute favorite!

to hard for me to decide which I like more. My 229 .40 or 226 9mm, both are wonderful. Congrats!

+1 for loving the 229. Have 750+ rounds through my "02/12 production" model with ZERO functional issues. Just lucky? I think not. Had some personal preference issues with the e2 grips which were changed out with Hogue G-10's; feels even better in my hand and now it looks like MY P229. Have the basic "contrast" sights and am still working through a decision on which night sight to mount (folks here have been very helpful). Practice and enjoy!

My 229 SRT Enhanced trigger is my favorite shooter and carry. I have 2 p220's and a p232,and a "Springy" 1911 along with a glock, bersa, and da judge. I just shoot better with th 29 and that is in either caliber. The 357 is nice and snappy,um um good!

I couldn't agree more...just picked up my 229 SCT last week and only have 200 rounds through it but it is flawless so far. I put the Hogue rubber grips on it and today FedEx is delivering my SRT kit. I started with an amazing gun and with a few changes made it MINE

scooter: Had the E2 one piece grip on my 229 and switched it out for Hogue G10's. Suggest that you remove your one piece grip and verify that you have the screw holes in the frame before you make the investment. This link is to the Hogue Store page showing a nice version of their rubber finger groove style grips mounted on a P229. http://www.hoguestore.com/images/products/28000L.jpg

Did you ever find any quality night sights for your firearm? I'm wanting some as well and wanted some suggestions.
