SIG 1911 Ultra

For what it's worth, I recently bought an Ultra and have grown very fond of it. It has been 100% reliable from the get-go, is just as accurate or more accurate than the bigger pistols I have, is very ergonamic and managable with less felt recoil than other "Officer size" 1911s I've owned. Anyone else on this forum have one or have shot this fine litte critter? Dennis

Not the Ultra, but a full size Sig 1911 is definitely on my want list.

Congrats on your purchase, and welcome to the forum.

I picked one up just over a month ago. I was looking at the kimber ultra carry, and came across the sig. I wasn't even aware they existed (been a glock guy for 12 years), but I really liked the look and feel of it. It also had night sights where the kimber didn't. I have heard too many problems about kimbers having break in problems, FTF, FTE issues that I decided to give the Sig a chance.

I have put close to 200 rounds through it, 5 different types of ammo without a single hiccup. It shoots great, trigger is awesome, and very accurate at 15 yards. I liked it so much I picked up a P238 on Monday. Took to the range on Wednesday and again, zero issues. The trigger pull on the P238 wasn't as great, but still pretty accurate once I got used to it.

My brother in law has been trying to convert me to Sig for years, and I think it is finally happening. I couldn't be happier with my two most recent purchases and I am already looking for my next Sig.

I don't think the 1911 Ultra is approved for sale in California...
