Fads make profit, too.

It just doesn't seem like the kind of thing a serious firearms maker would do, though, does it?

I clicked the link that Smith3466 provided and this is what it said:
"ETA JULY 2012 - PLEASE EMAIL US FOR WAITING LIST.*
The legendary 1911 design has been brought into the 21st century with the refinement today’s shooters demand and Zombie Hunters needs. The SIG SAUER® 1911 Zombie Limited run proves that close tolerances equal complete reliability and need not be incompatible in an off-the-shelf pistol. SIG SAUER has introduced clean, distinct lines that American shooters have embraced, while retaining the crisp trigger pull, classic ergonomics, and exceptional accuracy they expect."

What struck me about that was this line "today’s shooters demand and Zombie Hunters needs.".

Zombie Hunters have needs?...who knew

We must realize that some of todays new shooters learned how to shoot on their X Box, Wii or play station.

The new Zombie series is USB compatible. LOL!

Easy there, I am one of those "todays new shooters" lol.

And yes I probably have more trigger time on COD then I do with my Sigs, but that doesnt mean I need a Zombie 1911.

Ill take my W. German P226 over that anyday!

LOL! I'm just jealous! My daughter has an XBox and I suck on it compared to her!

She is great at the Black Ops game, but the zombies get me dead.

I guess an old schooler like me is better at shooting commies!

Nothing against fantasies; got a few that I visit regularly (but thats a different forum). I like to keep my fantasies and realities separated lest I get confused as to where I'm at. In particular, when I have a gun in hand, I want to be reality based ONLY!

This is no different than the "Molon Labe" Sig 1911 or pink S&W revolvers. It's just an aesthetic.

That Molon Labe Sig is pretty bad as well. It's like they tried way to hard on it.

It's not just the aesthetics, it's the subject.

Zombies are fictional. Molon Labe isn't.

This is for the shooting public to decide. There is a reason Sig did not catalog this. If it's met with distain, the'll drop it. Sig's different slide colors and patterns are very familiar to what Kimber has done.

I believe the problem that many of us have is that a gun company such as Sig is well know for putting its money into quality over gimicks. Once you see the gimicks, you wonder about the quality.

As far as pink firearms, that is marketed toward the softer gender, and the jury is still out on this. In some ways, I don't think the pink guns are a bad idea, if it does indeed get more women involved in the shooting sports. I'm not sure, I want the mall ninja involved. That type of involvement in more likely to show up on Bill Maher than at a reputable gun range. How much more bad publicity do we need?

I don't like this mentality. I do not care one ounce what the media-fed public thinks. All I care is that: A) I have guns, and go ahead and try to take them.

If I can't have fun with my guns, it's not worth having them.

What the media-fed public thinks determines whether or not you will have high-cap magazines, AR style rifles, etc. These people vote.

And one other thing, if for some unfortunate reason, you are put into a situation where you must use a firearm to protect yourself, don't think that very firearm will not be used in a courtroom for the purpose of convicting you. Handguns with skulls on them or zombies, etc. will go a long way in getting a jury to lean one way or the other. If you think a jury is about what is right or wrong, you are wrong. It is about perception.

And as far as "come and get them", law makers don't have to do that. They simply tax you out of the ability to afford one.
