I have had one of these on order since March (my first Sig) so I am very thankful for the feedback you have provided so far and any that you might do in the future.

You are welcome. If you have any specific questions just ask, and I'll do my best to answer them.

Could you comment a little more on how the 938 compares to the 238 as far recoil, trigger pull, smoothness and overall feel when shooting?

The first major thing I noticed was how stiff the recoil spring was on the 938. It feels at least twice as stiff. As far as recoil, the 938 obviously is going to have a little more that the 238. You can definitely feel it. If you closed your eyes and ware handed a gun, you would certainly know the difference between the two. However, it is not anything that I'd call out of the ordinary for a compact gun in 9mm. I think the stiff spring has a lot to do with this. Both the 238 and 938 I have now have not been fully broken in. They both have less than 200 through them. They are both comfortable to shoot, and have continued to loosen up as they are shot. I recently shot a 238 that had somewhere around 600 rounds through it, and it was as smooth as glass. Im sure these two will be the same before long. The 938 trigger seems to require a little more pull before it breaks, only in distance not in effort...if that makes sense. Overall, the pull on them feels about the same.

Is that the Nightmare model? Is that the 6 or 7 round mag you are having trouble with?

Yes, it's the nightmare. It's the 6 round. To my knowledge, a 7 round isn't available yet (per SIG customer service). It's gotten a lot better after a couple of trips to the range. Just needs more range time..

I had a chance to get one of these early arrivals last week from Afton Arms out of Virginia off of SF, but decided to wait for the Equinox model with the TFO front sight, nicer grips and the two 7 round mags. I'm hearing these should start shipping in June 2012.

I hear you. To each his own. I'm not an Equinox fan, I can change sights, and I'm sure magazines will be available soon. Plus it's been fun to watch all my buddies want to see, hold, and shoot it....so it all worked out.

Count me as one hanging. Recently sold two pistols and that money is just burning a hole until my lgs gets a P938.

I got mine about a week ago, number 20 off the assembly line. I did not have a chance to shoot it until yesterday. I also experienced similar problems shooting FMJ winchester rounds.

I had about 20 misfires out of 100. I could see that the pin just barely dented the primer. In most cases when I ejected the magazine before clearing the chamber the next round in the magazine was about a quarter of the way out of the mag.

I called SS customer svc to discuss my concern. Their comment was that it takes at least 150 rounds to break the weapon in. They suggested giving the gun a good cleaning and use quality oil during reassembly and fire another 50-100 rounds. If this does not correct the problem I am to send it back to the factory for the gunsmitty to check out.

That recoil spring is very long and stiff. Had a little struggle getting it back in place.

Overall the gun handles very well, when it does decide to fire. Similar to my P238 but with a bit more kick. Both weapons weigh about the same when fully loaded, and very similar in size. Gonna try round two tomorrow...lets see what happens.

P290 owner and the only failure I had in 400 rounds was from WWB ammo.

Happy to report that on my second attempt with another 100 rounds not a single problem, gun worked flawlessly. I followed the recommendation and cleaned the gun thoroughly and oiled it up; also changed ammo. Bought the cheapest ammo I could find in FMJ...like said no problems.

Cleaned the gun after I got home and the recoil spring appears to have softened up a bit. I did not have as much trouble putting it back in place. Even the spring in the magazine lossened up, was able to load without requiring the auto-loader.

The gun shot very well. Just a little more kick than my P238. Very happy with my P938.
