Funny feeling hammer drop - Sig 2022

I own a Sig P226 MK25 and love it, so I recently decided to add a SP2022 to my gun collection. I love it, it has performed flawlessly and shoots just like a 226. Even though it works flawlessly, I noticed a change in the feel of the hammer after shooting about 300 rounds through it. It originally had a solid feel to it when the hammer fell, but not has a “springy” feel to the hammer drop. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

I noticed the same thing. When dry firing, the hammer bounces around finding its resting place after rebounding off the firing pin and the slide surrounding the rear face of the pin. I thought it was a dirty trigger until I realized that all the metalic noise/movement happened AFTER the hammer dropped. I have used my hand to restrain the hammer and pulled the trigger cleanly and the feeling/noise goes away.

I don't feel that while actually firing, though. The slide comes back and resets the hammer back to the SA notch so you don't feel any fuss.

I still have a low round count below 75. It has not changed a bit so far.

Now, if you think your handgun's jacked up, please send it in. I felt something similar on mine until I looked and felt around some. I'm in no way worried about mine.

The hammer 'bounce' when dry firing is normal on a SigPro. Shoot the snot out of it.

Thanks everyone for the feedback ... I have about 350 rounds through it (and have owned it a little over a week). I love the way it shoots.

Perfect

Just wanted to up-date everyone that reads this thread. I now have shot just over 1000 rounds through the gun in this thread without a single malfunction or issue. I guess the springy feel of the hammer is just an idiosyncrasy of the SP2022

I Love this gun!

1000 rounds! Wow, I guess we can count on you to tell us if the 2022 will ever fail us. LOL.
I am glad to hear that you have had great success with yours, makes me feel even more confident about mine.
Happy shooting!
