P-226 Bridge Mounted Sparc
Just got my 226-.22 back from Sig for sights/accuracy work. It now shoots where it aims. Just mounted the new Sig Bridge Mount with a Vortex SPARC.
Weight is minimal, seems like a solid sight system.
But I am still in the process of getting it zero'd. From what I am finding, the regular sights work fine up to 25 yards with my old eyes and I get very good iron sight groups.
Maybe the red dot will be an advantage beyond 25 yards. But so far it's more of a distraction at closer ranges.
The Sparc itself seems like a nice, affordable/recreational unit that delivers a lot for the price. The dot is highly adjustable and can be seen easily for most range work. But the controls/switchs are small and a little impractical. It's a trade off for the overal size. I don't know if it'll take much rough use and probably wasn't really built for Mil-Spec applications. The bikini covers for the unit looked really cheap...the Butler Creek Flippers finish it off very nicely, imho.
