Hi Guys: Just purchased a Sig P226 Elite 9mm ASE TALO and I just love it. Here is my question , I see in the Sig Catalog a P226 ASE full size that looks similar ,What is the difference between the two? I see that there is about 300 dollars difference in price , but, I am curious as to what that 300 dollars bought me. Thanks for any help. RonnyB.

P226 Elite

The P226 in Sigs catalog lists it as" P226 ASE Full Size" The Talo model is listed as "Sig Sauer P226 Elite 9mm Stainless with night sights". The only differences I can find is the grip is Rosewood instead of Walnut and the length of the Talo pistol is 8.2 inches whereas the ASE full size is 7.7 inches. Thanks for all your comments. RonnyB

THIS IS NOT A TALO MODEL, this is a normal SIG model

What Catalog are you looking at? 8.2" 226..??? I'd like to see that..

My 2018 Sig Sauer Catalog Printed version doesn't show anything like what you describe.

This is the Talo listing of the ASE guns.

I think the length difference is standard vs beavertail frame. As far as I know all the ASE's have beavertails and aside from what looks to be a change in grips they are all the same. I wouldnt get hung up on published specs. In my experience its common for specs to be copied across models.

p226 elite TALO

I originally went to " Sportsman outdoor superstore" and they were advertising a Sig Sauer P226 Elite 9mm Alloy Stainless with night sights" They had a price of $ 1359.00 crossed out to their price of $929.99. They also listed the length of the pistol and the Rosewood grips. I have seen at least 5 posts on youtube that the TALO model is not listed in the Sig Sauer catalog yet, but soon will be. Just want to say "Thanks" for all the comments and all the help. RonnyB

A stainless-slide/silver-aluminum frame 'standard' version of the P226 would be a nice addition to the line, though.

P226 Elite Talo

I think I may have solved part of my problem. I downloaded from SigSauer web site in January the picture and specs for P226 ASE Full Size. It stated the grips were Walnut and the pistol was 7.7 inches in length. I just checked the web site and this pistol is no longer there. The pistol I purchased from " Guns America" was advertised as a P226 Elite 9mm ASE with Rosewood grips from TALO and
a length of 8.2 inches. There are about 5-7 field trials on youtube using this TALO model. Naturally every one loved it and said they could not wait till Sig Sauer put this model in its catalog. It looks like Model E26R-9-ASE was sent to TALO where TALO made the grip modification along with a few other changes and upped the price to $1359.00. Thanks again RonnyB

I have an ASE and love it! It is the most accurate gun that I own! Here are some groups that I shot yesterday at 25 yards from sandbags. I just wish that I didn’t have those flyers! It has the potential to shoot sub inch groups

You guys finally sucked me into a P226ase. Been stalking them for a few months now. Had a few chances at them in the $750-775 range. Couldn’t do it. Well last night I found one nib,9mm, for $712 shipped. Should have it later next week. After all my reading and video watching, I decided I really want one of these. The SSE models are just to much for what doing with it. So... thanks to all who posted the positive reviews on the ase. Thanks. Ron
