p226 E2 feeding problem

just got a supposedly slightly used p226 E2 and am having quite a few failure to feeds at the range...was using federal champion 115gr and factory federal target also 115gr....the mags are the newer non mec-gar mags i believe they are made by checkmate...the p226 is american made and so are the mags...am really ****** about this cuz when the gun does shoot without failure to feeds it is frickin awesome...and i just luv the feel of this gun overall...i even shoot it quite well...

anyone here any problems with these newer mags? two local gun range employees never ever heard of this...even a gunsmith i spoke to said he never heard of this either...? any suggestions...the ftf's are like its nosediving but in an upward position...

Pick up some mec gars and see if the issue continues. Good chance it's a mag issue.

Hit the nearest trash can with those checkmates once your Mec-Gar's come in. Sounds harsh but they are ****.

If your pistol works fine with the Mec-Gar's just call SIG. They may/may not replace the checkmates since you bought the pistol used. It's worth a try though.

so i got the mecgar mags...put 100rd thru each mag and pistol functioned flawlessly...numbered the checkmate mags this time so i knew which was which...one checkmate mag FTF after 4 rds n didnt use rest of range time...the other seemed okay but only put 50 rds thru that mag...will try all three functional mag next time at range n will provide an additional update...

ps. i read somewhere there is something diff about checkmate followers and mecgar followers...compared the two and very noticable difference between them..anyone know where i can find just mecgar followers to replace the checkmate ones?
