Importing German P226 LDC from Canada

The SigNess has now shifted north of the border....

You may recall I just had two police trade-in P220STs serviced and refinished by the Mothership. But I have two other P220s (5" Match Stainless Elite and Scorpion)...so...I could trade or sell to fund something else. (May need to add another gun or $$ to get the full amount needed.....see below!)

In my collection is a stainless US-made P226 LDC purchased from the Sig Pro Shop for just over $1500.

A black German-made P226 LDC is available in Canada for $1427 USD ($1799 Canadian).

So...how do I get the black LDC to move south to join the silver LDC?....

Came across a company called Borderview Firearms Logistics. They offer a service for importing guns from Canada to the US. Fees are $299, plus 5% of the value of the gun (approx. $70) and 3% import duty on goods from Germany (approx. $42). Plus it will cost me something to ship the gun from Ontario to British Columbia and then to my local FFL in the Seattle area. Total will be around $1900 when all is said and done.

Borderview also does the required import marking on the gun (they do it with a laser engraver in the magwell. If we go forward, it will take about 8 weeks for Borderview to get ATF-approved paperwork and ship.

Anyone have experience working with Borderview on importing guns from Canada?

I have no experience, but it sounds fun. When I decide I want something, I don’t worry about cost. I hope it works out for you.

LDC from Canada/Germany

GBIA,

Yes....I've looked at it..as well as the slightly used one US-made one that is in the SigTalk classifieds.

Just kind of interested in having the German one and trying out the importing process.

Talked with the Canadian gun store today and the the importing company.

Probably pulling the international trigger in the next day or so.

Then it's 8 weeks for ATF paperwork.....

i'm not sure if roll mark in magwell is considered conspicuous.

Pretty sure it meets the requirement. 99.9% of The ATTIC's import marks are at the bottom of the magwell. Even many of MMBI's import marks are also there.

agreed, i've seen some on the magwell from the same importer, simpson as my b&w's.

i thought "conspicuous" was a new term for import roll marks + figured earlier, nos imports on magwell was an easier, acceptable way of doing it.
