My P220 Problem

New to SIGs, just got my concealed, got a used one from a friend and I was shooting it, after the last round I noticed the trigger went limp, took the grips off and looked inside and a small paper clip like object broke from the decocking area, was wondering what it was and how to go about replacing it? (SIG P220 .45 Auto)
Thanks!

If it were me, I would send it to the Sig Custom Shop and have them perform this:

Sig Service Package – Detailed stripping and complete and thorough ultrasonic cleaning of the entire pistol. Professional safety inspection of critical components by factory certified personnel. Replacement of springs prone to wear ( trigger bar spring, slide catch lever spring, recoil spring) and any needed small parts. Then lubrication to factory standards, reassembly and function testing. ALSO INCLUDES THE FACTORY INSTALLATION OF SIGLITE NIGHT SIGHTS. (Not available for Mosquito, 1911-22 and P230/232 with fixed front sights). $144.95

As you can see, it includes the installaion of SigLite night sights. My friend had his P220 done, and he loves it... It sounds like this package should fix your issue, but let them know your issue with the gun to make sure.

For more information on Custom Shop services or instructions on shipping your pistol, contact the SIG SAUER Customer Service Department with the serial number of your pistol(s) at (603) 772-2302 ext 3. All firearms shipped to SIG SAUER must have a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number or it will be refused and returned to the sender.Custom Services

Sounds like you have a newer spring with the loop in the middle. Different spring but same attatchment pionts provided something is not broken and just that the spring popped off.

220 problem

If I had a sig problem I would send it to Gerry at Total Automation (google it). He has worked on 6 of my Sigs. He's a top notch sigsmith and prices are VERY reasonable and what's best is his turn around time. For big jobs like action work, reducing trigger uptake time etc he has returned my pistols in 2 weeks. I would guess he could work you in and complete work in several days. If you contact Gerry tell him bill murphy sent you.
Bill
PS I'm sure gerry would also inspect your pistol from top to bottom and offer suggestions. He's totally honest and would tell you if something needs to be done VS. what might be done to make pistol more "cool".
