Shooting better with MP and Glock?

I just came back from the range with my 2022 .40. One of my friends has a .40 MP and the other one a .45 Glock

I dont know why but I was shooting better with those 2 guns than with my sig. I can put the bullets where I wanted it with the other guns but with my sig I was shooting kind of low.

Also i liked better the sights on the MP that the ones on my Sig.

Any tips? Change the sights?

Ergonomics. I am the opposite of you. The only pistols I shoot better than my SP are HK and other SIGs. Everyone's hand size/shape/finger length/finger size is different than the next person.

However, I would check your sights and make sure they are centered on the slide.

Well I bought the sig because its the one that fit perfect in my hand. I feel very comfortable with it. I dont like the grip of the glock and the MP feels just ok.

Ill check the sights just in case...

of all my sigs, i have a g30 for hd/sd. the g21 & g30 are 2 of the softest shooting 45's i've ever fired.

i don't like the long da pull in a hd/sd situation & find with the consistency of factory stock glock triggers (at one point i had 5 glocks), i'm more confident of putting the 1st round on target.

When it comes to .45's, the G30 has the least recoil, imho. My 2022 in 40 has the smoothest and lightest trigger in either DA or SA and very accurate.

It could be because you were more focused on your fundementals with the other pistols since they were not what you are used to.

Some of the best shooting I've done was with a friends shotgun the first time I ever picked one up.

Check your sights. Make sure you have #6 front sight and #8 rear sight. If they are correct, try different brands of ammo.

Were you using the combat style sight picture with your sig? I notice when I shoot my Glock for a while, when I go back to the Sig I hit low. Its because Im not covering my target like I need to.

What kind of sights? I'm shooting low with my 2022 in 9mm and I have the over/under sights.

Sigs are set up so the POI (point of impact) will be where the dot on the front sight is located when the blade of the front sight is centered and level with the rear sight - not the top of the blade as with many other guns. Often new Sig shooters experience this problem and think the gun is shooting low, not to say it can't happen.

After attaining proper sight alignment, the proper sight picture should be number 3 on the image below.

Sigs are made as defensive weapons as opposed to target pistols. Guns designed for target use would probably be set up using images 1 or 2 so as not to cover the bullseye. But guns designed for defensive purposes many times use #3 for center of mass shooting.

Hope this helps...Sig Marine

I believe the SP2022 9mm has #8 front and rear. The 40 has #6 front? Just want to be clear.

Sig Marine - Looks like I was aiming like in the #2 pic.

Also I'll change the grip for the other one and try it.

SIG Marine, thanks for the sight graphics. I found the clarification useful for my P226. I rechecked the manual where it explains how to adjust the sights, but it's not clear on the sight picture. Your illustrations helped a lot.
