I've been plugging "Sig P226 Sport" into search bars for a long time....40 minutes ago on a whim searched "used Sig" at Bud's and....up pops a P226 Sport. It took me a minute to believe what I was seeing and then I snapped it up. It's nice to be lucky once in a while.
Looking forward to introducing it to it's brothers- P220 Sport and P229 Sport.
How does the Sport work? Is it a standard P226 slide with a 5in barrel? Or is it a full metal X5-length slide underneath the rail attachment? Is the attachment steel or alloy? It looks to me like a brilliant and ingenious way of lengthening the sight radius and barrel without increasing the weight of the slide? I wonder why we don't see these types of attachments out on the third party market?
