226 mag issue

So I bought a 226 in 9mm used and one of the mags is causing jams. I think its a checkmate because it is factory and says made in usa. should I get a new spring for it?

Not sure. Does the other mag do the same. I have the same gun and there's a little rattle in both of my mags but I haven't had any issues with jamming.

I would get a new spring for it... I'd get the Wolff springs.

Yes, the Mec-Gar's are made in Italy. Since it's used, I would take the mag apart and clean it if it is dirty before you throw it away. It is either dirty, needs a new mag spring, or just a bad mag. If it's not fixable, I'd pitch it. I've never been one to keep a bad mag around. It's too easy for them to get mixed in with the good.

How does the spring tension feel compared to your other good mag? If it is not considerably less, I wouldnt worry about trying to change the spring.

I vote to just get some Mec-Gars. I have never had an issue with any of mine.
