American Rifleman May 2012 issue. Just go to your nearest newstand and browse through all the gun mags and you will probably find one with an Ad in it. There is even a write up on the Sig M400 in this issue.

But even if they are just saying that the gun has a service life until 2022, they would have to support that platform until then. That means that they will have to keep producing at a minimum replacement parts to keep the guns running, and is most likely that they will continue producing full guns at the same time to replace broken guns and to sell to other markets. They might as well since they have everything they need already, and it will allow them to make money outside of their original contract with the French.

SP2022HQ.COM

^Shameless plug to SP2022HQ where I originally posted this info

Anyway, I called Sig today and talked to them about this and I was told it was the first they've heard of any of this and that it was absolutely not true and not to believe anything on the internet unless it is a Sig press release. So take it for what it's worth but it sounds like we're in the clear!

SIG still has to produce parts well after 2022 for the SP series pistols. We can all rest easy.

If you're worried about it, stock up on spare parts.

The only worry, Siggybaby, was whether I should grab one or two more!

I'll hold off for the moment. A local shop near me has six of the S&W Shield pistols on order. One has mine name on it. There goes another $400! I had the option of 9mm or .40, so I went 9mm as not to adopt another mouth (caliber) to feed.

I figure when I want a .40, I might skip that step and just get myself a tuned 1911. I've been without one for two long.

But I do really enjoy my 2022. GREAT pistol for the money.
