I've got the Streamlight TLR-4 on my MK25. The first one I purchased made a high pitch sound whenever the laser was on. I spoke to Streamlight and they confirmed this should not occur. I returned it and the second one was better. It only occurs now if I switch from light to laser/light, while remaining in the on position, which wasn't enough for me to care.

Thanks Al. Just ordered the same grips, in checkered, for my P220. Should get em tomorrow. Also, got a matched Benchmade, should also be here tomorrow.

Looks great. I have been thinking of getting a MK25.
BTW I think that's the same granite we have in our kitchen.

Did you do a field strip of the firearm?
Was there orange paint on the recoil spring?

I'm so color blind, I saw orange and thought it was rust! I wasn't expecting it until my daughter corrected me.

Just the tip was painted orange on my spring. Only about 20%. Not the whole spring. That's why I thought it was rust. Some of the paint in coming off onto the frame. Not sure I like it, might gum up the works.

only the tip is painted on all the springs that are color coded.

they're color coded because they look alike.

if you have a better way, offer it to sig & maybe they'll change the way they mark 'em.

The paint is to indicate the tighter end of the spring. Yes, there is a tight end and a looser end. The springs must go on the guide rod a certain way. Make sure the tighter end goes on first, so that the looser end is at the tip of the barrel and the tighter end of the spring is back near the ejector.

Also when removing the spring, do not pull the spring off of the guide rod, but twist the guide rod off of the spring while keeping the spring held firm so as not to stretch it.

glad I wasn't the only one who thought rust the 1st time seeing it. I don't feel so bad now!

Don't worry about the paint slightly chipping off, that will happen over time no matter what. As long as you are properly cleaning and lubing your gun after each use, the tiny bits of paint that gradually wear off are meaningless.
