P226 Stainless Elite Grip Swap Issues

Replaced the factory rosewood grips on my P226 Stainless Elite with some G10s. The slide release no longer works, as it hits the top of the grip. Is my slide release tweaked or is the grip shape wrong? Is the slide release different on the Stainless Elite from a standard P226? Part of me says to bust out the dremel and grind the grip down. Part of me says I shouldnt have to do jack to grips that cost this much. Thoughts?

Close comparison of the grips should reveal a difference.

No issues with mine, first thought would be the release.

Careful with a Dremel on G10 material, it works like med.-soft wood. Nasty dust, too.

I have 12 sets of Hogues (Black checkered, Pirahna) on Sig P series pistols, none required any fitting.

Even the best let one slip through QC occasionally.

What kind of G10s are those? They look like Legion grips and the Legion uses the low profile slide catch lever.

Dremel the grips to gain clearance, dremel the catch lever tab to gain clearance, or replace the catch lever with the Legion style.

I didn't know CoolHand made anything in just black. All I remember ever seeing were a bit "loud" for my tastes.

Your grips look good.
