i got my first P230 SL back in the 1980s. i don't remember the "SL" on a P230 SL ever meaning anything other than... stainless variant of the P230. i don't imagine a new definition of "SL" arose with the P232 SL.

the P230 without "SL" simply refers to the blued variant.

I found the 32 ACP 230 in Florida this winter. It is a ball to shoot. Note the safety and lanyard ring. These were allegedly made for the Japanese Police (or maybe some other foreign police agency).

I have had my P232 stainless (which is also my first Sig) to the range twice and it is really a joy to shoot. On the last trip I took my neighbor along and now he is shopping for a P232. It is accurate and the mechanisms have a feel of quality and precision. I ordered it from Sig via a local dealer and had to wait 3 months - but it arrived just in time for summer shooting.
